wooden fettuccine cutter rolling pin It is the right tool for great pasta. I have a pasta machine but I roll my pasta on a wooden board with a wooden rolling pin- because it makes a much better product. I can roll up the fettuccine and cut it with a knife faster and produce what some would say are more attractive noodles. However the wooden cutting rolling pin leaves noodle edges that are a little rough and which thereby hold sauce better. This is the path to great pasta with traditional Italian style. If I am making 2 portions of pasta using the wooden cutting rolling pin takes an extra 2 minutes. I think the extra texture and flavor is worth the time. This is not the tool for Olive Garden style pasta. This is a tool for great classic pasta. And if the noodles will hold the sauce you do not need to add cream so your pasta dishes can be lower in fat and much healthier. I assert that great pasta made with semolina is part of what makes the Mediterranean diet healthy.
