It doesn't have dangerous chemicals that flake off into your food. Only food and food-grade oils cause it to be truly nonstick. And it distributes the heat evenly. It was easy to season and never once in months of use has food stuck to it. The handle does not get hot. It works for us on an electric stove which was a concern raised by others.
