Great for compound chocolate
This Wilton chocolate melter is good for candy melts. It keeps compound chocolate at a good temperature for dipping or molding.
It's too hot for real chocolate.
I have tempered real chocolate with this small appliance. It heats to 117F and makes melting chocolate easy. Then take the silicone pot out of the heating base and stir in the seeding chocolate. Stir until cooled to 76F. Return to the heated base. Put in a thermometer and do not let it get pass 95F take the pot out and use the chocolate to fill a mold or dip. Then return the pot to the heated base as needed.
