Tools needed

Instructions

  1. Fill a disposable piping bag with red buttercream for a quick and mess-free process.
  2. Cut the tip of the piping bag with scissors to create a wide opening for easy piping.
  3. Fit another piping bag with white buttercream and a French star tip (or any star tip) for the border.
  4. Use a small cake board or tray—we’re using the Alcas Mini Medoro Gold Round Tray with Lid.
  5. Arrange three cupcakes on the tray in an inverted triangle shape.
  6. Pipe red buttercream over the cupcakes in a heart shape.
  7. Smooth the buttercream with a small offset spatula, refining the edges to define the heart.
  8. Use an icing smoother to create an even surface for the border.
  9. Pipe a decorative border around the heart with white buttercream for a clean, polished look.
