Manufacturing flaws
The design is sturdy, but there's a lot of 'flash' on every edge, and the inner and outer surfaces too. I'd guess their molds are worn - the inside has humps/craters where the ejectors weren't flush, and more flash around every seam in the mold. I've managed to scrape most of it away, but now the inside isn't smooth anymore. I bought these to hold bread dough for first rise, and they're harder to clean than they should be.
